Can we restore an archived index and close it and then again archive it?

Question:
I want to understand that can we restore an archived index and then close it and archive it again after using the information required?

For example: We are keeping the data open for last 2 days for an index and archiving the older data than 2 days. Now, I want to get 7 days old information from the index.

So, can I restore that particular index for that particular date and use it and after using can I close it and do I need to archive that index again?


Answer:
​Archived index is like a file backed on tape drive. When you restore it, it creates a new open index which you can use. During all this the archived index stays as it is. So, you can use the restored index and delete it (not close) after usage
