What’s the Issue? 

Data retention was not working.

Describe the Issue in Detail

Data retention was configured for Index as per below:

But retention was not working, we could see all indices in open state instead of closed/archived, we closed the older indices manually.



Solution Summary

  1. Dao service was started, as from initial vuTraces implementation service was not started, and when started led to overflow of indices to be retained.
  2. Index prefix in retention settings changed from eg:(vunet-1-1-traces-output-* to vunet-1-1-traces-output*)
